Metro Valencia – 2023
Valencia boasts an impressive public transport system comprising buses, trams, and metro trains. The recent launch of line 10 has significantly expanded the network, which already features a considerable number of lines for a city of its size. With additional stops and new lines intended to join the network, it's clear that the system is continually evolving. However, while the network itself is fantastic, the same cannot be said of its official map.
Over the years, the official map has undergone several redesigns, with an entirely new design being introduced with each iteration. Despite these updates, there are still various aspects of the current map that I find unappealing. For example, the obtrusive zone borders and cluttered lines around key interchanges like Àngel Guimerà, Xàtiva, Bailén, and Alacant.
As a designer, I saw an opportunity to create a better version of the map. I set out to straighten the lines, revamp the zoning and overall geometry, and redesign the legend to make it more user-friendly. After countless hours of work, I'm thrilled to share the first version of my updated map. I'm confident that you'll find it to be a vast improvement over the official version.
